Each year we have been chatting with Jacqui Pierce to promote Brain Injury Awareness week, and give a plug to all the events that are on in our area.

This year Ivan Thorne, who is from the Victim of Crime program at Centacare, will be with us.

Given that 3000 brain injuries in Australia are the direct result of Domestic Violence and Violent Assaults, we will have much to discuss.

Hopefully, we will get to chat with a client of Ivan who has a brain injury from an assault.

Barbara Henry, the Chief Executive Officer of Barwon CASA Counselling Services and Kerry McFarlane, program and client services manager, and I will talk about the services Barwon CASA provides.

We will chat about staff profiles, why the service is needed, and how it works for you.

We will give some stats as well as talk about what is sexual assault and family violence and new developments, such as the multi disciplinary centre that will better facilitate the handling of all reported abuses .
